Divisions and Groups
The FJGA summer golf program is organized into four divisions: a 5-hole division for boys and girls aged 8 – 11,* a 9-hole division for boys and girls aged 12 – 14,* a hybrid division for boys and girls aged 13 – 18* who would like to play either 9 or 18 holes, and an 18-hole division for boys and girls aged 14 – 18* who are high school varsity players.
Each division is split into groups. There are three groups in our 5-hole divisions (two boys’ groups and one girls’ group). There are two groups in our 9-hole division (one girls’ and one boys’). There is a hybrid group for boys and girls who would like to play either 9 or 18 holes. Finally, there is an 18-hole group for high school varsity players. All together, we have seven groups operating at different courses each week.

To play in the Tournament players must be available for both Monday and Tuesday (if qualified during Monday’s round), which may include a day of Match Play.** All six weeks of play will be held at Swartz Creek Golf Course.

**Match Play (as defined by the USGA) is a form of play where a player plays directly against an opponent in a head-to-head match. A player wins a hole by completing it in the fewest number of strokes, and a player wins a match when the player is winning by more holes than remain to be played. A player (or opponent) may concede a stroke, a hole or even the match to each other. If a player’s next stroke has been conceded, the player is permitted to putt out.
