FJGA-Weston Family Scholarships
FJGA scholarships are largely funded by donations. These are generously matched up to $5,000 in total contributions per year by the Weston Family Scholarship Fund.
Each year, scholarships of up to $1,000 each are awarded jointly to selected players and their chosen college or university. From its inception through 2023, over $150,000 in scholarships have been granted by FJGA.
To be considered for an FJGA-Weston Family scholarship, players must
-
Compete in either the 18-Hole or Hybrid (18-hole) division;
-
Have participated in Flint Junior Golf for at least three years;
-
Be playing their final year in the FJGA and be a rising college freshman;
-
Submit a completed application, including an essay about a positive experience they had in Flint Junior Golf; and
-
Receive a positive recommendation from their FJGA site supervisor.
Volunteer work performed during the applicant’s high school years will be given special consideration. The essay describing your experience with FJGA will be evaluated on its content, organization, grammar and style.
Scholarships will be awarded in September.
Applications must be submitted by August 15. Late applications will not be considered.
